1969 Clipper 36 'Jamcill'
Designed by Bill Luders

List of some of the major expenses for the restoration of 'Jamcill'

The following is just a partial list of expenses.  I lost some of my receipts but had kept a detailed spreadsheet of hours and expenses. My system broke down somewhat when we were busy getting 'Jamcill' ready for launch.  According to my spreadsheet here are the figures for all expenses, equipment, paint, West System epoxy, etc.  Here are the figures:  Total expenses for repairs, and equipment was over $57,000.  This figure does not include the previous owner's expenses (see below).  Total labor hours were app. 2400 hours.  Had I paid a boatyard for the work the cost would have been 70 to 90 thousand dollars.  In addition to the equipment expense I paid a worker at Ithaca Boat Works over $12,000 in labor.  All total with cost of boat we have over $100,000 into this restoration.  We spared no expense as we planned to make 'Jamcill' our home and spend several years cruising.  Life has a way of changing our plans.
